Authors: Diederich C, Yetkinler D, Nau W, Brandt L
Presented: International Spinal Injection Society, Annual Meeting, Boston, September 2001.Meeting cancelled, accepted but not presented. 6th International Congress of Spinal Surgery, Ankara Turkey, September 2002. World Spine II: Second Interdisciplinary Congress On Spine Care, Chicago, August 2003.
Published: European Spine Journal, Vol. 11, No. 4. August 2002. p. 418.
Description/Overview:

In this combined comparative study, research conducted at both ArthroCare and UCSF Medical Center determined that the intradiscal temperatures generated by the IDET (IntraDiscal ElectroThermy) procedure were significantly higher than those produced by the DISC Nucleoplasty procedure.

The authors concluded that the DISC Nucleoplasty procedure provides a higher thermal safety margin than that of other intradiscal procedures such as IDET.
